Israel wandered for forty years, preparing to enter the Promised Land. And when the time was ready, fear gripped their heart. They didn’t want to fight for the Promised Land. They want a ‘gimme gift’ at no cost to them.
Unfortunately, the same is happening today. Many Christians are wandering around waiting for God to give them their Promised Land, on their terms. And when they have reached the entering state, fear grips their heart when they see what awaits them.
1Timothy 6:11 – Fight the Good Fight of Faith. This is no ‘gimme’ statement. The steps are written for us and Jesus will show up (vs14). ‘War a good Warfare.’
Caleb said ‘give me my mountain’. He and his offspring proceeded to fight for it knowing their God was with them and knowing he is faithful to ‘produce what he has promised.’
John 3:36 Many Nicolations in the churches today are moving in ministry with the wrath of God on them. How do we know? They teach that God owes us a ‘gimme gift’. He owes us the Promised Land because of all we are going through on this earth. Our ‘forty years of wandering’, of troubles are precursors to entering the Promised Land. They promise this Land when you give the money offering. They ask you to give of yourselves, your gifting offering, no, they ask for the money offering. Why? Because they are working under the false pretension of being saved and vs. 36 says this. And we must teach that the wrath of God must go and will only go with salvation. Then the Shepherd will teach them the truth of entering the Promised Land.
Romans 1:16 – 18 The Power of the Gospel: ‘It is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first (the Chosen People) than to the Greek (you and me). ‘The wrath of God is revealed … against all who suppress the truth in unrighteousness’. This statement says unequivocally, that God must punish sin. No escape. Because verse 20 says they (unsaved) are without excuse.
My salvation is sure and secure in His hands. Is yours? I have entered and have taken my Promised Land. Have you?
